Hand-painted ceramic tile depicting the profession of: Engineer. Includes the iron support to hang on the wall. Castelli's pottery is of the type of the so-called "maiolica" for its glass covering coating. Each decoration requires a particular color of enamel that is obtained by mixing in the majolica of mineral colors. The majolica comes to life through the art of skilled highly specialized decorators who make the finest decorations of the Castellana ceramic tradition. For more than five centuries ceramics have been worked with traditional techniques, transmitted from father to son for generations.
